A fast-food restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee is offering free shakes to people who've had vasectomies.
The owner of Daddy's Dogs, which has three stores in Nashville specializing in hot dogs and a concession stand in Nashville Soccer Club's stadium, told Insider on Tuesday that around 17 people had taken up its co-called "Snip for Shake" offer so far.
"We thought this would be a fun way, with all the recent current events and political status, to bring out some alternatives solutions to put the ball in the guys' courts," owner Sean "Big Daddy" Porter said.
In late June, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, removing constitutionally-protected abortion rights and instead allowing states to make their own laws.
The Tennessean reported that the state now bans abortions after a heartbeat can be detected, which the publication said occurred usually at around six weeks of gestation, when many people still don't realize that they're pregnant.
The state is also expected to introduce a near-full ban on abortion in the coming weeks under a trigger law. The law would allow exemptions to protect the life of the pregnant woman in medical emergencies.
"We just think giving a free milkshake to men who've gotten their balls snipped is the right thing to do," Porter told industry publication Fast Casual.
Porter said the offer is on until the end of July and that people just need to bring a note from their doctor as proof of the procedure. Fast Casual reported that the offer is only available at Daddy's Dogs flagship store on Centennial Boulevard.
"There's nothing like an ice cold milkshake after a vasectomy," Porter said in an Instagram video.
